The Barjanka Hervis Event or “Cycling Adventure on the Ljubljansko barje”
Barjanka is a tourist-sports event that connects the local community, municipalities, providers, and associations. The route of “Barjanka Hervis” will traverse all the municipalities within the landscape park and will be 77 km long.
Barjanka Hervis is a cycling event designed to showcase the beauty of the Ljubljansko barje and evoke memories of the early days of cycling competitions when the first cycling races took place on gravel roads.
In addition to its exceptional natural landmarks and world cultural heritage, the Ljubljansko barje is also endowed with a discovery of global significance, dating back more than 5,000 years. Of particular note is the extraordinary find of a disc-shaped wheel with an axle, discovered by archaeologists in early spring 2002 in the area of the pile-dwelling settlement at Stare Gmajne in the southwest of the Ljubljansko barje.
SPECIAL WARNINGS
The marathon will take place in a closed, controlled ride and is non-competitive in nature. Participant times will not be measured. The anticipated speed on gravel sections is 20 km/h, and on paved surfaces, it is 30 km/h.
Wearing a protective helmet is mandatory. On the back of the race number, there is a form with vital personal and emergency contact information in case of injury or accident. Please fill in the details, as this information will greatly facilitate the work of the emergency services during the marathon.
A marathon participant is anyone who registers with the organizer, pays the registration fee, completes the entry form, and has a race number. Upon picking up the race number, participants confirm, by signing, that they are familiar with the terms of the announcement and agree to them.
Marathon participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
During the marathon, there will be a mobile road closure, so participants are kindly asked to ride on the right lane on paved roads and follow the instructions of the organizer, police, and marshals on the course.
The entire route will be well-marked. The last participant is expected to reach the finish line by 12:30.
The organizer provides a commemorative medal to each participant.
All participants ride at their own risk.

Although constant caution is required on the road, we recommend careful and skillful riding on all gravel sections:

- Most čez Kremenico – Črna vas Ižanska cesta 7 km
SPECIAL WARNINGS
A participant overtaken by a vehicle at the end of the mobile closure becomes a regular traffic participant and must adhere to the traffic regulations and respect other participants in traffic.
As the event will take place within the Ljubljansko barje Landscape Park, participants are kindly requested to store any waste from energy supplements in the pockets of their cycling jerseys or dispose of them in designated bins at refreshment stations and at the finish line.
