As part of the CYCLE2CONNECT project, Ljubljana will host the European Student Cycling Challenge in 2027, taking place within the framework of the Maraton Franja BTC City event.
The project is organized by the Rog Cycling Club. CYCLE2CONNECT brings together students from 12 European countries with the aim of promoting sustainable mobility, an active lifestyle, and international youth networking through everyday cycling.
The central element of the project is the new CYCLE2CONNECT mobile application, through which students can collect cycling kilometers, track their activity, and participate in the European Student Cycling Challenge.

The mobile application is already active:

The most successful students will qualify for the international final event — the European Student Cycling Challenge 2027 in Ljubljana — where they will take part in:
- an international team challenge,
- accompanying activities and workshops,
- networking with students from across Europe,
- participation in Slovenia’s largest recreational cycling event — Maraton Franja BTC City.
The Cycle2Connect project represents an important step in connecting sport, sustainable mobility, and European youth cooperation. In 2027, Ljubljana and Maraton Franja BTC City will host a unique international student cycling event that will combine sport, education, and European values.
All students from partner universities, sports federations, and organizations participating in the project are invited to join.
