THE MOST MASSIVE CYCLING EVENT
Marathon Franja BTC City is the most massive cycling event in Slovenia and is also one of the largest cycling events for recreational and amateur cyclists on a global scale.
SPORTS AND RECREATIONAL EVENT FOR ALL AGES
The sports and recreational event with the longest tradition in Slovenia was first organised on July 22, 1982), under the guidance of Zvone Zanoškar and on the initiative of Tone Fornezzi-Tof.
PART OF THE WORLD SERIES UCI GRAN FONDO
In 2012, Franja joined the UCI Gran Fondo World Series as one of its eight marathons. Today, this prestigious series includes 31 marathons from around the world.
MORE THAN 150,000 OFFICIALLY REGISTERED CYCLISTS
Over the years, Marathon Franja BTC City has boasted more than 150,000 officially registered cyclists from over 80 countries worldwide, including over 23,000 female cyclists.
FOR MANY, FRANJA IS THE MAIN EVENT OF THE CYCLING SEASON
Over the years, it has faced numerous challenges and earned a reputation as the most important event of the season for both Slovenian and international cycling enthusiasts.
OVERWHELMING CROWDS OF FANS ALONG THE MARATHON ROUTE
Every year Marathon Franja BTC City attracts more than 10,000 spectators along the route, creating the atmosphere of the biggest races. People support the marathon numerously, even though there are no professionals on it.
